Summary of financial results of the Stalexport Autostrady Capital Group for Q1 2021

Press Releases 10 May 2021

Despite lower traffic intensity on the A4 Katowice-Kraków motorway, in Q1 of this year the Stalexport Autostrady Capital Group recorded revenue at a level comparable to the previous year. Net profit was approx. PLN 2 million lower compared to the previous year

In Q1 2021, the average traffic intensity on the A4 Katowice-Kraków motorway increased by 9.8% compared to Q1 2020 and amounted to 34 thous. vehicles per day. The reason for lower traffic intensity on the A4 Katowice-Kraków motorway were restrictions introduced in Poland and in Europe in connection with the COVID-19 pandemic.

Despite lower traffic, revenue generated by the Stalexport Autostrady Capital Group in Q1 of this year amounted to approx. PLN 73 million, which is comparable to the previous year. The following factors had an impact on the aforementioned amount of revenue: increase of toll rates for passenger vehicles starting from 1 October 2020 (to counteract the decline in passenger vehicle traffic by approx. 13.2% ) and higher traffic of heavy goods vehicles (by approx. 6.2%).

The net profit of approx. PLN 30 million (i.e. approx. PLN 2 million lower compared to Q1 of the previous year) was affected by higher costs of depreciation/amortization recognized in own cost of sales.

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Stalexport Autostrady Capital Group continues efforts undertaken a year ago in order to ensure the safety of A4 Katowice-Kraków motorway users and employees, with particular focus on customer-facing employees. Contactless payment methods that are being developed include: videotolling connected linked with Autopay, SkyCash and IKO applications as well as A4Go and Telepass electronic toll collection systems. The toll collection methods do not require the driver to stop at the toll collector’s cabin, roll down the window, hand over cash or a card, or collect change and a receipt. Drivers who use contactless automatic payment methods are granted preferential rates. At present, approx. 33% of all transactions executed per week are contactless.
