With higher revenue and a significant decrease in the costs of sales and in the financial expenses, Stalexport Autostrady Group has achieved higher net profits in comparison with the same period last year.
In the first half of the current year, the Group's revenue reached PLN 119.2 million (about 14% more than in the first six months of 2014). The largest share in the revenue of the Stalexport Autostrady Group corresponds to the management of the A4 motorway between Katowice and Kraków performed by the Group’s subsidiary Stalexport Autostrada Małopolska S.A. From January to June this year, the revenue from tolls for using the payable section of the motorway amounted to PLN 117 million, increasing by over 14% in comparison to the revenue obtained in the corresponding period last year.
The improved financial result is an effect of, among others, further increase in traffic on the A4 motorway between Katowice and Kraków as well as of higher toll rates. In the first half of 2015, 6.5% more vehicles used the payable section of this motorway as compared to in the first half of 2014. This increase refers to both passenger cars (6.2%) and trucks (7.9%).
The improved financial ratios of Stalexport Autostrada Group, as compared to the same period last year, were also achieved owing to reduction in the Group's cost of sales, resulting from lower costs of creating provisions for the motorway surface replacement. Financial expenses were also significantly lower due to a decreased level of liabilities. As a result, Stalexport Autostrady Group registered net profits amounting to PLN 45 million.
