A positive Q1 2023 in the Stalexport Autostrady Capital Group

Press Releases 9 May 2023

Stalexport Autostrady Capital Group closed Q1 2023 recording an increase in key performance indicators - both revenue and net profit.

In Q1 2023, the average traffic intensity on the A4 Katowice-Kraków motorway increased by 0.9 percent compared to Q1 2022 and amounted to 43.9 thous. vehicles per day. Traffic intensity for passenger cars increased by 0.7 percent, whereas for heavy goods vehicles - by 1.5 percent.

Revenue generated by the Stalexport Autostrady Capital Group amounted to approx. PLN 103.3 million in Q1 of this year, which represents growth by nearly 13.3 percent compared to the level from last year. The following factors affected this result: higher traffic intensity and change of toll rates on the A4 Katowice-Kraków motorway introduced for all vehicle categories effective as of 4 July 2022.

EBITDA of the Stalexport Autostrady S.A. Capital Group amounted to PLN 60.7 million, i.e. approx. 5.1 percent less than in the corresponding period of the previous year. On the other hand, net profit amounted to approx. PLN 37.3 million, i.e. approx. 15.4 percent more than in Q1 of the previous year.

In addition to toll revenue, other factors that had an impact on EBIDTA for Q1 2023 include higher own costs of sales that amounted to approx. PLN 49.5 million, i.e. were 29.4 percent higher than in Q1 2022. These costs include the costs of establishing provisions for resurfacing (more than PLN 20 million in Q1 2023 compared to PLN 10.5 million in Q1 2022).

In addition to the aforementioned factors, the amount of net profit was also affected by significantly higher net financial expenses - they totalled nearly PLN 7 million in the period under analysis (a negative value was recorded in this item in Q1 2022, i.e. PLN 2 million), whereas the main item was interest income on non-current bank deposits.

The Stalexport Autostrady Capital Group continues to be oriented towards the development of automatic payment methods - videotolling (which at present is linked to four applications: Autopay, SkyCash, IKO, mPay) as well as A4Go and Telepass electronic toll collection. These payment methods are the fastest and most convenient, and for passenger car drivers - 13% cheaper. The share of automatic payments in total toll transactions already represents more than 40% and keeps steadily growing
